REMINDER: FAMILIES ASKED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF RESIDENCY THIS SUMMER As part of an ongoing effort to tighten R-7 School District residency requirements, all families will be asked to again provide proof of residency for the 2013-14 school year. This annual requirement will help ensure that students who are not residents of the school district are not attending R-7 schools. Proof-of-residency procedures save district funds by eliminating the costs of educating non-resident students. All parents or guardians of elementary and early childhood students are required to provide proof of residency during enrollment/registration, scheduled for July 24 and 25 at all elementary schools and at Great Beginnings Early Education Center. Residency verification will be required before students will be assigned to a classroom for the 2013-14 school year. Providing residency verification during enrollment/registration will help R-7 staff prepare for school and will streamline the elementary Meet Your Teacher Night, scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 12. All secondary students’ parents or guardians will be required to provide proof of R-7 School District residency during middle school and high school registration, scheduled for July 31 and Aug. 1 at all middle schools and high schools. Families will be receiving additional information in the mail from their schools this summer about the annual residency requirements along with specific dates for enrollment sessions.
