REMINDER: Please help our children and young people get a very important message out to the wider community. Everyone regardless of religious or cultural background are invited to take part in our LANTERN PARADE & CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE, which will take place on THURSDAY 18TH DECEMBER at 6pm. The LANTERN PARADE will make its way through ANNADALE and the wider BALLYNAFEIGH community, and will end with some CHRISTMAS CAROL SINGING at the ORMEAU ROAD LIBRARY :-) Pastor William from Kimberley Street Mission Hall has kindly agreed to coordinate the carol service of which the choir will be made up of children / young people, parents and relatives from Annadale / Ballynafeigh and other communities across Belfast. Everyone is invited to join us!! This event aims to bring the community together in peace, reconciliation and sharing, as our children and young people convey their message of peace at Christmas. Nisha Tandon, from Arts Ekta will be the organisers of the Lantern Parade, which will take place as part of our Christmas party celebrations in the Community Garden , where the kids will also get to see Santa in his grotto, immediately following this wee parade / short carol service…. If you or your child or family member to take part in this parade / carol singing / event, please let us know asap so that we can ensure enough lanterns and party food !! Staff from the South Belfast Alternatives Restorative Justice has kindly offered to help organise this event and decorate santas grotto… IF POSSIBLE they are in the process of organising that Santa makes a DRAMATIC ARRIVAL but cant say on facebook how, as it will spoil it for the kids !! Our friends from the Whiteabbey Community-Group will be joining us too, along with residenst from the different communities across Belfast. A big thank you to the Ormeau Road library for letting us use their premises and to all those that have been involved in planning this special event: some of which include: South Belfast Alternatives, Blaze FX, Kimberley Mission Hall -The Bridge, FASA, Belfast City Council, Community Foundation for N.Ireland, Peace Impact Programme, Ballynafeigh Orange Hall, PSNI and others including local residents!! A special thank you goes to Community Foundation for NI and their Peace Impact programme who are largely funding this event, without this funding this event would not have taken place and Department of Social Development for their contribution.
