REMINDER Press Release –Immediate 15 December 2014 ZYC TO HOST PARLIAMENTARY ENGAGRMENT MEETING Harare: The Zimbabwe Youth Council will be hosting Parliamentary Engagement meeting tomorrow (Tuesday 16 December 2014) with the Senior Parliamentary Portfolio Committee of different committees at the Parliament of Zimbabwe at 1000 hrs. During the 2014 Orientation Program of the Children’s Parliament, five Parliamentary Portfolio Committees that directly oversee the welfare of children in Zimbabwe were introduced. These Parliamentary Portfolio Committees are: • Public Social Services, Labor and Social Welfare • Health and Child Care • Education, Sport, Arts and Culture • Justice Legal and Parliamentary Affairs • Finance It is in this light that ZYC has put together an audience with the portfolio committee on Health and Child Care and Education, Sport, Arts and Culture with their counterpart committee from the Children’s Parliament. The meeting will enable the Children’s Parliament portfolio committees to present reports to their senior counterparts which they are developing from community consultations they are currently conducting. Through these, they are establishing issues of concern from children in their constituencies and validating issues raised during the Official Opening Debate of the 22nd Session of the Children’s Parliament which will be discussed during the meeting.
