REMINDER: The AWHA Ltd is proud to be a part of the National Museum of Australias exhibition Spirited: Australias Horse Story. The National Museum of Australia has developed a major project, Horses in Australia, exploring Australias equine and equestrian history and culture. The project includes a substantial exhibition, Spirited: Australia’s Horse Story, which opened in Canberra on 11 September 2014 with a national tour planned to follow, as well as a website providing permanent access to horse-related collections and Australians horse stories. As a part of this project the National Museum of Australia has put together a digital exhibit featuring profiles of each of the major horse breeds, types and colours in Australia. This site will be available online as part of the Horses in Australia website, and in the Spirited exhibition. The site will enable visitors to learn more about the diversity of horses in Australia, and provide an opportunity for people passionate about particular kinds of horses to highlight their horse breed or type to a national audience.
