REMINDER: The Macon Bibb County Animal Welfare Task Force meeting will be tonight at 6:00pm at Government Center, 700 Poplar Street, Macon, GA in the Mayors Large Conference Room. Agenda With the recent Commission vote allocating additional SPLOST funds to complete construction of the new shelter, Mr. Clay Murphey will give us a progress update. This will be an important update, and is indicative of continued strong support of the new shelter by the Administration and the Commission. Director Tenon will give an update on progress on the new spay/neuter law, recent animal abuse cases, adoptions, and grant applications for low cost spay/neuter. The Administration has indicated a willingness to consider a proposal for a new joint cooperation agreement between the shelter and the rescue groups. This may include a permanent civilian advisory board for the new shelter.
