REMINDERS FOR THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THE CLOSING MASS OF POPE FRANCIS AT QUIRINO GRANDSTAND, LUNETA ON JANUARY 18, 2014: 1.) There will be an overnight vigil at the Liwasang Bonifacio (in front of Philippine Postal Corporation Building) from January 17 (Saturday) at 5:00pm until January 18, (Sunday) 4:00am. The Delegation will march from Liwasang Bonifacio towards Rizal Park – Luneta at 5:00am. There will be prayers, singing & faith testimonies during the vigil. 2.) Participants are expected to bring their own food and water that could be shared with others for the entire duration of the activities. They are also asked to bring their own clothes, personal belongings, sleeping bags, tents, and tarpaulins that could be use as sinages and greeting to the Pope as well as sleeping mats. Kindly bring your jackets, hats and raincoats. Umbrella is discouraged. 3.) For identification, we are requesting all delegates to wear our diocese white Pope’s T-Shirt. Everyone is encouraged to bring white handkerchiefs and bandana that we could wave when the pope arrives. And we may also use this as protection from the sunlight. 4.) During the Concluding Mass at Rizal Park on January 18 at 4:00pm, all delegates are enjoined to actively participate at the singing and responses during the Mass. THEY ARE ASKED TO BRING THEIR IMAGE OF STO. NIÑO FOR THE SINULOG DANCE AND CANDLES FOR THE CANDLE LIGHTING CEREMONY. (Rite of Mission sending) of the Pope. 5.) Each group should appoint a leader or person-responsible/in-charge. Kindly inform our Coordinator-REV. FR. JIGS GARCIA at 0933-222-0400 (DCY OFFICE). You may also contact Fr. Jigs and/or the DCY Staff for further questions/clarifications. 6.) Please inform your parish delegation that park organizers will only admit people at 6:00am at the Luneta Park. They will close entrances to the Quirino Grandstand at 12:00 noon in preparation for the Concluding Mass at 3:30pm 7.) Although we may not be able to go and directly participate in all events, let us enjoin our faithful to reflect on the message of His Holiness, Pope Francis who will speak in English in his addresses.
