REPOST: Since the Zombies are coming on the 31st. :-) THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, UNSATISFIED THIRST and ABUNDANT LIFE! In the movies, do zombies ever get satisfied with all their killing? Well no...! Just like in the series , The Walking Dead or movie World War Z, they are an infection spreading to the corners of the globe biting, eating, and infecting/killing all living humans. These fictional characters are never satisfied! Not that we need to empathize with these foul creatures. However, we understand unquenchable/unsatisfied thirst, dont we? Think of it this way. Have you ever been in the hot sun all day and just could not get enough to drink? Have you ever craved that, certain favorite drink for a time, only to find out that when you get your fix its not as satisfying as you thought it should be?... Not satisfying as you had expected. I have! Lots of things in life have been that way for me. Working so hard to achieve/get something , only to achieve or get it, and its much less than satisfying. Goals, relationships, money, homes, toys, sports, achievements, success, and for me the list goes on and on and on like the energizer bunny. Hard headed, I guess!!! YES! The thought that enters my mind was from another popular movie with a more friendlier zombie. Pirates Of the Caribbean: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL. The living dead, Capt Barbosa in the moonlight drinks a bottle of wine which flows through his partial skeleton and onto the deck of the ship. So unsatisfied. What a waste one might say. [Barbosa to Elizabeth] Look! The moonlight shows us for what we really are! We are not among the living, and so we cannot die. But neither are we dead! For too long, Ive been parched of thirst and unable to quench it. Too long Ive been starvin to death and havent died. I feel nothin. Not the wind on my face nor the spray of the sea, nor the warmth of a womans flesh. [He reaches for her, his hand turning skeletal] You best start believin in ghost stories, Miss Turner. Youre in one! (Wikipedia) The hope of all the dead pirates is that they can be brought back to life so that they can feel and be filled. It seems a more noble zombie is he...Not as bad as those mindless beings who just have one unquenched instinct. This movie, has a little more like living, living dead. They just want to be living. Seeking peace and even embracing death. I cant quite figure out the living dead thing...LOL! Well, dead beings cant feel or be filled. They just kill the living so they can be the living dead. And...now in this movie they want to be freed from their curse of being dead. There is quite a stir among the zombiests of society. A strange infatuation with the living dead... STRANGE!?... The interesting thing about all of this fictional zombie craze is that it can be interesting illustrations for real life. This world is full of spiritual zombies. Seeking life...looking to be freed of the curse...or hoping that misery loves company... We like Captain Barbosa are starvin to death and havent died. Pouring things into our lives that will never help us feel or be filled. Were just going through the motions like all those around us. The bible tells us that we are dead. (Col. 2) That is dead in our sin until we receive life from Him who gives abundant life. We must die to our old way of trying to quench our thirst from dead things... Galatians 2:20, 5:24, 6:14, John 12:24, Luke 9:23, Romans 6:11-14,8:12-13 12:1-2... (John 10:10)...yes!, ABUNDANT LIFE!... There are many things and stuffs we search for that do not quench the thirst within us. However they flow through us and our lives and like the Rolling Stones song: we Cant Get No Satisfaction... With Jesus first... We shall be satisfied. In this life and forever more. ABUNDANT LIFE! People of God! Your Zombie ammo and protection can be found here. EPHESIANS 6:10-18. Rise up and have/live! You have a satisfied and ABUNDANT LIFE, now and forever more! Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6, NRSV
