RESCUE FRIENDS, The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man. -- Charles Darwin I have sat back for the last week or so and seen the Waukegan Animal Control and its officers be bashed as well as Wags 2 Wishes and the name of rescue and I can hold my tongue no longer (and those who know me know its very hard for me). Regardless of whether you like those involved or not, whether you agree or not, if you are in any way a foster, a rescue whichever the decision around Mr. Bass and these puppies will affect you. We as individuals who rescue, foster, act as the voice of animals need to ban together to support Waukegan Police Animal Control and Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue. If you think for one second that the return of these puppies wont affect you then you are wrong. If you are an animal control then you have to know that rescues will be reluctant to pull from you for fear of this happening to them. If you are a rescue you have to be concerned that what is happening now could be you in the future. No rescue should sit back silently and let the chips fall where they may. We must put our differences aside and be a united rescue front. If you think that when breeders call rescues rescue retail that they dont mean you to then you are not walking around with your eyes open. We need to show solid support for the officers who are on the absolute front line of the animal issues and who day in and day out make tough decisions before they ever reach out to rescue.
