RESCUE LOOKING FOR A PERMANENT HOME: I received this note from a friend of mine: Mrs. Beasley was rescued from a high kill shelter back in April. She is five years old and as you can see, is a short haired dilute Tortie. She is front declawed and would be best in a home with no small children and probably no other cats if possible. Not sure about dogs. She was very depressed while we had her in Petco so she was taken back to Rescue Me but was miserable there as well because she had to live in a large cage. As it turns out, she had an ear infection so that was probably at least some of the source of her depression/lethargy. I took her to my vet and had her ears treated and as far as I know, they are fine now. She is currently being fostered by a woman who will keep her until we find someone else, but she does not want to adopt her. Shes a gorgeous and well behaved cat. The vet and assistant both remarked on how good she was being while they were rinsing out her ears and during her examination. Two Saturdays ago the foster took her to Petco for a couple of hours in hopes someone would want to adopt her. It was a disaster - she wouldnt come out of her carrier and hissed at everyone. I think the poor thing is just fed up with all the changes in her life. The foster says she is fine at her home and they play together every evening. She really needs a chance in a normal home with someone who will love her long term. It kills me because she looks just like my Chipper so I have a special place in my heart for her. Because she is declawed, it wouldnt work in my home as my two have claws and would shred her to pieces. So, if you can think of ANYBODY who might be interested in this beauty, please pass this on to them. She is current on all vaccinations and tested negative for all the bad stuff ; )
