RESCUE STORY by Alice Manzoni This is Ray, a Rattus Rattus founded in the guinea pig food ( vegetables) in the recovery center called La collina dei Conigli ( Rabbits Hill), where I am a volunteer and where rabbits, guinea pigs, mouses, and rats are saved expecially from laboratories. He was so little, maybe 3 weeks, he was so cold and strenghtless...he was dying. But I kept him in my hands and in a blanket and I warmed him with my breath for 2 hours and then gave him some milk with biscuits. ..and he finally started to get better and better. He opened his eyes and started to jump and run. I WAS SO FULL OF JOY. I think the best moment of my Life. He demonstrated immediatly gratitude for saving his life, by licking my tongues. From completely wild To completely domestic in a few minutes. I was speechless. He started sleeping always in my pocket. And he still loves to sleep with me, every day, in my t shirt. HE IS NOW MY LOVE, I FEEL SUCH LUCKY I RESCUED HIM. He is my happiness, always.
