RESOLUTIONS Please read the Circular copied below. The Court ruling was circulated earlier. The Emergency General Body held on 25th Sept 2014 observed that the Circular issued by the Registrar has gone beyond the actions notified by the Hon. High Court. Resolved that we will comply by the rulings of the Court, but not the excesses detailed in the Circular issued by the Registrar on 25th Sept 2014. All JUTA members to assemble at the Office of the Registrar at 1.40 on 26th Sept to demand the Immediate Withdrawal of the Circular. JUTA demands that all future actions on behalf of the University must be decided after discussions with all stakeholders. It was also noted that the lawyer representing the University has misrepresented the facts by stating that the faculty, willing students and the officials connected to the University are not allowed to enter the premises and discharge their duties Resolved that JUTA will be a party to this petition and the General Secretary, JUTA be empowered to take all decisions in this matter. Resolved that as JUTA has received no positive response from either the Hon Minister in Charge of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal or the Hon Chancellor, Jadavpur University to the demand for an impartial enquiry in the series of events that led to the brutal police attack on students including the molestation of girl students, JUTA initiate legal proceedings for instituting such an enquiry. The Executive Committee be empowered to take necessary action on this matter. Resolved that an Emergency General Body meeting be held on Monday, 29th Sept at 3 pm at ESc 3/1 to discuss future action. Regards, Nilanjana Gupta General Secretary JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY REF no: REC/ N/ 310/ 2014 Dated 25.9.2014 In terms of the order dated 24th Sept. 2014, passed by the Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta in WP no. 27428 (W) of 2014 (placed in official website of the High Court), it is stated that the entry to the University campus will be permitted to the Students, Scholars and employees of the University only on production of their respective Identity Card, issued by the University. For implementation of this Court Order all are requested to abide by the following: 1. Ingress and egress of students/ scholars, employees & residents of the University shall be from Gate No. 1, 3 & 4 only. 2. The visitors are to enter the Campus only through Gate 3, subject to obtaining a Gate-pass upon due verification. Permission for the entry of any visitor is at the sole discretion of the competent Authority of the University 3. The University employees or residents, using their own vehicle may enter through gate number 3 and 5 only with designated/ proper car stickers 4. Visitors entering the campus with vehicles are only allowed to enter through Gate No. 3 & 5 only with designated/ proper car stickers 5. All cars will be allowed to exit through Gate no 4. only. 6. Gate Pass/ Token issued to any visitor is to be surrendered at the time of exit, after getting it signed from the officials with whom he/ she visited. 7. The designated place for the agitation/ protest/ assembly has been fixed at the area to the left of Triguna Sen Auditorium & Science Club, as an interim measure and under prior intimation to the University Authority. 8. ALL ARE REQUESTED TO DISPLAY THEIR IDENTITY CARD, DURING ENTRY AND EXIT TO AVOID LONG QUE (sic) IN THE RUSH HOURS 9. The same procedure shall be followed for other Campuses of JU, for which separate notification is being issued. All concerned are requested to cooperate with the administration in implementing the order of the Hon’ble High Court for bringing normalcy in the campus. A copy of the said court order is enclosed.
