RESOLVED that we give our genuine appreciation to the Presbyterian churches of Johnston County and to the First Baptist Church of Smithfield for • the overwhelming number of hospitable, warm, inviting volunteers in bright red, easy to identify shirts; • the incredible organization, planning and overall logistical expertise of the staff, chairpersons and volunteers; • the comfortable seating, delicious lunch and the fact that lunch was provided by the Cyber Café of Johnston Co Industries which provides jobs for those who may otherwise have difficulty with competitive employment. WHEREAS, we celebrate the diverse contributions of the worship service such as the prayer offered in Spanish, the 23rd Psalm in song, the printing of the hymns in the worship guide, the outstanding choir music, the amazing solo by Shelley Maddox and the convincing proclamation of the word from Rev. Karen Dukes;.... THEREFORE, be it resolved that we [the Presbytery of New Hope] give heartfelt thanks to God for the warm and friendly welcome of the host churches and we pray for God’s guidance and blessings on the work of our Presbytery and all our churches, knowing that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
