RESPONDING TO RANJENI MUNUSAMY IN THE DAILY MAVERICK To understand the kindness, patience and humanity of Black South Africans, one has to travel the world and visit places like France where refugees are more close to animals, Italy where refugees rights are only watched on TV, Netherlands where a hostel full of refugees was burnt down and all died, Australia where Refugees are turned into criminals and many other parts of the world… Coming back to Africa, South Africans are the most kind, generous and considerate people in all aspects, but just like any other society, we admit there are criminal elements in our society who are both South Africans and foreign nationals. South Africa again in the whole world is one of the few nations that value and respect all human beings. In the world where refugees are criminals, animals and so on, South Africa allows refugees to integrate immediately and allows them to work, own shops on humanitarian purposes. This is not allowed in many countries of the world especially in Europe…Refugees are better off in South Africa than anywhere else in the world. In the same article, Mr. Cooper says that “some people may argue that corruption is in black people’s DNA blood”. I dispute his statement because; it has been observed that out of 100 corruption cases in South Africa and rest of the world, 80% have white companies involved in the background. Cooper also speaks about racism and hate but I would say that; white people should give blacks a credit and learn from them too because Blacks are the only South Africans who are seriously concerned about unity, reconciliation and rainbow nation for the past 20 years which required a lot of sacrifices and sometimes costs ANC its voters and support. Unfortunately, the more this happens the more the whites are at an advantage on their side in terms of seizing power once again. This therefore makes reconciliation and the rainbow nation concept not sustainable in a politically, economically and socially divided society like South Africa. We need to close those gaps before we think of creating a rainbow nation to be enjoyed by all who live in it. ANC needs white partners to build a dreamed rainbow nation and these partners must have the country at heart and humanity in them, if this doesnt change, whites are likely to lose more in future than they can imagine….
