REST IN PEACE.... KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Absconding notorious gangster Dinesh Adhikari aka Chari has been shot dead in a gun battle with the police at Bhimdhunga area on the outskirts of the capital on Wednesday evening. Acting on a tip-off by a special source, a joint squad of the Metropolitan Police Crime Division and Range Office at Sitapaila had followed Chari, who was on a Pulsar 220 cc motorbike with registration number Ba 49 Pa 3112, till he reached Bhimdhunga from Sitapaila. According to SSP Pushkar Karki, who is Chief of Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Chari got killed after he opened fire at the police realizing that he was being followed while he was heading toward Dhading district. “The police fired back after Chari tried to escape the scene by opening fire at the police. He died on the spot,” SSP Karki said. Chari´s bullet-ridden body was recovered near Narsari Community forest at Bhimdhunga. He had sustained bullet injuries to different back parts of his body.
