REST. This is when we get stronger and faster. We dont actually get fitter in the gym or on the road. It is the bodys response to the running or weight lifting stress. Getting fit comes afterward. When u rest the body gets to work repairing damaged tissue, strengthening the heart and other muscles. This stress, rest.... Stress, rest little bits at a time is how we get stronger, faster, healthier. Over time this adaptive energy gets depleted and without rest fatigue and loss of motivation result. Try some time off or cross it up with a different activity.
