RESTING IN THE SUPPLY OF GRACE OVER THE WORKS MINDSET OF DEMAND PERFORMANCE OF SELF EFFORT. LET THIS MINDSET OF CHRIST BE IN US, WHICH IS A MINDSET OF RESTING IN THE SUPPLY OF FINISHED WORK BY FAITH ALONE BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD. Heb:4:1-2: THEREFORE, WHILE the promise of entering His rest still holds {and} is offered [today], let us be afraid [to distrust it], lest any of you should think he has come too late {and} has come short of [reaching] it. For indeed we have had the glad tidings [Gospel of God] proclaimed to us just as truly as they [the Israelites of old did when the good news of deliverance from bondage came to them]; but the message they heard did not benefit them, because it was not mixed with faith (with the leaning of the entire personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness) by those who heard it; {neither were they united in faith with the ones [Joshua and Caleb] who heard (did believe).} THERE IS A DEMAND MINDSET THAT MAKE PEOPLE SO ENGROSSED IN THEIR SELF EFFORT PERFORMANCE IN ORDER TO MOVE GOD, WHICH LITERALLY MEANS THE WORK OF THE LAW, WHILE THERE IS A RESTING MINDSET IN THE SUPPLY OF GRACE WHERE WE ONLY FOCUS AND GAZED OUR EYES UPON THE GRACE OF GOD, WHERE WE RECEIVE THE UNMERITED UNEARNED UNDESERVED AND UNQUALIFIED FAVOUR OF GOD. Rom:11:6 But if it is by grace (His unmerited favor and graciousness), it is no longer conditioned on works or anything men have done. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace [it would be meaningless]. OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST MADE IT KNOWN TO US THE ONLY ONE THING THAT IS NEEDED AS A PREREQUISITE FOR THE MANIFESTATION OF THE GLORY OF GOD IN OUR LIVES IS FAITH BY HAVING A RIGHT BELIEVING MINDSET. BELIEVING WRONG IS WHAT MAKE PEOPLE TO FOCUS ON THEIR WORKS AS A PREREQUISITE FOR GOD TO MOVE IN THEIR LIVES. John:11:40 Jesus said to her, Did I not tell you {and} promise you that if you would believe {and} rely on Me, you would see the glory of God? A GOOD SCENARIO WAS MARY AND MARTHA. Luke:10:38-41:Now while they were on their way, it occurred that Jesus entered a certain village, and a woman named Martha received {and} welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister named Mary, who seated herself at the Lords feet and was listening to His teaching. But Martha [overly occupied and too busy] was distracted with much serving; and she came up to Him and said, Lord, is it nothing to You that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me [to lend a hand and do her part along with me]! But the Lord replied to her by saying, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; There is need of only one {or but a few things.} Mary has chosen the good portion [that which is to her advantage], which shall not be taken away from her. THE QUESTION WE MUST ASK OURSELVES NOW SHOULD BE, WHERE DO WE PUT OUR TRUST, IS IT IN THE FINISHED WORK OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST BY FAITH IN HIS GRACE, OR IN ADDING OUR SELF EFFORT TO WHAT CHRIST HAS ALREADY DONE FOR US AS A GIFT? Gal:5:4 If you seek to be justified {and} declared righteous {and} to be given a right standing with God through the Law, you are brought to nothing {and} so separated (severed) from Christ. You have fallen away from grace (from Gods gracious favor and unmerited blessing). WHATEVER THE HOLY SPIRIT ALLOW US TO DO SHOULD BE A FRUIT OF WHAT CHRIST HAS ALREADY DONE FOR US, AND NEVER MEANT TO BE A ROUTE TO GODS GLORY. 1Cor:15:10 But by the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not [found to be] for nothing (fruitless and without effect). In fact, I worked harder than all of them [the apostles], though it was not really I, but the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God which was with me. WITH A SUPPLY MINDSET, THE LIFE WE LIVE IS NOT OF OUR SELF EFFORT, BUT CHRIST IN US IS THE ONE THAT LIVE THROUGH US BY FAITH IN THE GRACE. GAL:2:20-21: I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me. [Therefore, I do not treat Gods gracious gift as something of minor importance and defeat its very purpose]; I do not set aside {and} invalidate {and} frustrate {and} nullify the grace (unmerited favor) of God. For if justification (righteousness, acquittal from guilt) comes through [observing the ritual of] the Law, then Christ (the Messiah) died groundlessly {and} to no purpose {and} in vain. [His death was then wholly superfluous.] OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IS ALWAYS OPERATING WITH THE SUPPLY MINDSET WHEN HE SAID HE WAS NOT THE ONE THAT WAS DOING ALL THE WORKS, BUT RATHER ITS THE SPIRIT OF THE FATHER THAT IS WORKING INSIDE OF HIM. John:5:19 So Jesus answered them by saying, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the Son is able to do nothing of Himself (of His own accord); but He is able to do only what He sees the Father doing, for whatever the Father does is what the Son does in the same way [in His turn].14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority {and} of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the ({His}) works (His own miracles, deeds of power). OUR SUFFICIENCY IS NOT IN OF OURSELVES, BUT ITS ALL ABOUT THE SPIRIT OF GOD INSIDE OF US. 2Cor:4:6-7:For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty {and} glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of {Jesus} Christ (the Messiah). However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur {and} exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.
