RESTORING SOUTHEASTERN AMERICAN KESTRELS: Presentation by Dr. Karl Miller January 27th at Prairie Creek Lodge Dr. Karl Miller will discuss the ecology, distribution, and population status of the Southeastern American Kestrel, sharing insights and photographs from nearly a decade of research and monitoring. The Southeastern American Kestrel is a non-migratory subspecies of falcon and currently one of Florida’s most imperiled birds. Karl will share the latest on FWC’s kestrel nest-box monitoring partnership and the statewide management plan for kestrels. About our speaker: Dr. Karl Miller is the lead upland non-game bird biologist for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
