RESULTS Race 2 Top Tip: Thermal Current (-) Sat on speed, was ridden hard a fair way out and just battled to the line. Danger: Gregers (2nd, $1.40) She sat in the 2nd half of the field without cover, she finished off well but could not reel in the horse back on the fence. Tipping if she had some cover she would have finished off much better with her 58kg. Race 4 Top Tip: Bonaria (1st, $3.53 BEST TOTE PLUS) Given a cracking ride by Rodd she settled 4th the outside, always traveled like the winner and once she was asked to go she quickly put 2-3L on them and cruised to victory. She is a great little mare and can keep her winning prep going wherever she ends up next. Roughie: Godspiel (4th) Ran really well at the big odds. She dropped out last and was being pushed along to stay with them from the 800m, got outside them in the straight and ran on very nicely. Stick with her over a bit further, reckon she has a nice race in her somewhere this prep. Race 5 Top Tip: Solicit (1st,$1.84 BEST TOTE PLUS)) Was ridden out from her wide gate to sit outside the leader, quickly moved up and took over in the straight and then found another gear when asked to extend by Lane, she was there to be beaten over the last 200m but she found plenty to hold of any challengers. Danger: Star Fashion (-) Raced well back along the rail, was put under pressure before the bend and took a while to wind up but she finished off well enough for longer races this prep. Race 6 Top Tip: Shamexpress (-) Had every possible hope, sat behind the leaders, came out at the right time but just did not finish the race off. Danger: Samaready (-) Froggy jumped on the wrong horse, she was never going to win. He gave her a great ride behind the winner but she showed no turn of foot when asked to go. Roughie: Pago Rock (-) Just battled away, a little disappointing. Race 7 Top Tip: Fiorente (1st, $2.20 TOP FLUC) Got well back in the field off a slow tempo, started to work forward from the 700m and he cruised up to them at the 400m, had a good battle with Green Moon but he was too strong over the last 100m to win. Superstar!!! Danger: Forteller (3rd, $2.10) Ran his usual good race at this level, he was out the back on the rail, worked to the outside and ran home nicely for another placing at the top level. Roughie: Thunder Fantasy (-) Ran fairly well, just found the older horses a bit string for him. He will be hard to beat over these trips back against his own age group though. Race 8 Top Tip: Sertorius (3rd, $1.40) Had a nice run 5th the outside but they walked in front and when the sprint when on he was left badly flat footed, finally wound up over the last 200m to run 3rd. Wants 2000m and a solid tempo. Danger: Lidari (1st, $7 TOP FLUC) Dictated the race from the front, gave a nice kick at the 400m and then was able to hold off the runner up pretty comfortably late. Never really looked like getting beaten. Race 9 Top Tip: Rhythm To Spare (-) Had a nice run off the speed, looked to be running into the race early in the straight but failed to finish off over the last 150m. Pretty disappointing. Danger: Sistine Demon (1st, $3.70 TOP FLUC) What a tough horse this boy is, he was ridden a treat by Oliver out in front, gave a nice kick in the straight and then held off Koonoomoo over the last 200m. Was a huge gap to 3rd. He just keeps running well and there is no reason to jump off him any time soon.
