RETIRED businessman Wahid Ali, whose house featured in Bollywood films shot in Fiji and who played host to Tamil-based movie stars on Denarau, has died. Mr Ali died on March 20 in San Francisco in the US after a long illness. Voicenet IP (Fiji) Ltd and Prabha Holdings (Fiji) Ltd, Mr Alis companies, announced his passing. Mr Ali played a vital role in showcasing the beauty of the country; he gave his home freely to international movie production houses to be used as a base and, in some cases, as a setting for movie scenes. He is survived by his wife Prabha Wati Ali, two sons Victor and Alvin and grandchildren Rachana, Kaajal, Shekhar and Shaneel Ali.
