RETRO TRAX PRESS RELEASE The Retro Trax festival will return in 2015. After a year off, the UK’s favourite Old School classics event is coming back stronger than ever before. This party has a reputation for planting a smile on smack bang on the faces of all 2,500 attendees and has quickly gained recognition as one of the best Dance events in the UK. With a strict over 21 entrance policy and an average crowd age of around 30-45 years old, this is one for those who were there in the day, and know what the vibe is all about. As many friends and supporters of the Retro Trax festival will know, 2014 has been a difficult year for head honcho Ian Kenyon. His world was turned upside down when his life partner Lisa was snatched away suddenly in June. The two of them had been planning the 2015 event together, carefully listening to the genuine feedback, gripes and moans from the previous events’ crowds to create the changes necessary to put on a standout showcase party. It is in the spirit of Lisa’s life and her love of good people and a great party that Ian has decided to go ahead with the 2015 Retro Trax festival. The event will take place on her birthday weekend, the 6th and 7th June, as a celebration of all that she bought to the world. Many of the acts and DJs are personal favourites of Lisa’s and have been chosen as a tribute to her memory. Expect a musical selection from Retro Trax that encompasses the whole spectrum of 1980s and 1990s Dance from the Summers of Love era. If you can remember the glorious hey-days of The Eclipse, Cream, Shellys, Fantazia, Quadrant Park, Bowlers, The Hacienda, Dreamscape and all the countless raves that were enjoyed by so many fresh faces embracing the community and spirt of the times, then this is the party for you. In previous years Retro Trax has attracted a large degree of attention from the Dance music industry for its innovative and exciting line-ups, providing a journey across the entire spectrum and history of the scene. This year is no different with highlights including live PAs from Shades of Rhythm, Dream Frequency, Last Rhythm, Rachel Wallace, and Together – all playing some of the most legendary tunes with the power to take you straight back to those magic moments. The listings for the June weekend include over seventy acts, DJs and MCs spread over three stages, with The Space Brothers, DJ Vertigo, Trevor Rockliffe, Human Resource, MC Cyanide, DJ John Kelly, Steve Proctor, Colin Dale, Blue Amazon, Fast Eddie, Nebula 2, Rob Tissera, DJ X Ray, Nookie, Paul Bleasdale, DJ Trix, Paul Daykayne, Phil PKA Kelsey, DJ Kenny Ken, Donovan Bad Boy Smith and Al Mackenzie of D:Ream already confirmed for the event. The 2015 Retro Trax festival will be taking place at Uttoxeter race course, located in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside. This was the original first choice for the event in 2011, providing all the necessary infrastructure for a well provisioned party, including an on-site train station – no taxis needed – a fully lit, tarmac car park and everything from real toilets through to hot food and fully stocked bars. This sets the scene for a classic warehouse-style rave set-up in the hard-floor betting halls, contrasted with the backdrop of a green-fields location. Due to popular demand Retro Trax festival has been able to secure extended finishing times at the Uttoxeter Race Course with the Saturday’s sound set to shut down at 2am and the noise on Sunday ending at 10.30pm.
