REVEAL TIME! AMERICANA, FRENCH COUNTRY & VINTAGE all wrapped into one comfortable family Den space. Heres the story of this space: The clients had no hope in making this large and in charge family (Mom, Dad & two boys) couch work. The rug that was there was way to big, and although you want a rug to fill a space, you dont really want it to fill a room. You want it to be the foundation for the furniture in the space and anchor any sturdy pieces. There was also a tall and heavy shelf unit stuffed into the corner that although functional, wasnt doing much other than just cramping any left over floor space the rug didnt get to eat up. SOLUTION: Set a smaller rug and hang the functional storage space needed to accommodate books and accessories! It keeps the floor space clear around the large sectional and offers a great opportunity for accessorizing! The other huge void- practically everything in this space before was modular and sharp angled (lots of squares, rectangles, box like footprints); we added round nesting tables in a complimenting material (metal and wood), a round based porcelain lamp and a floor set wire basket for blanket and pillow storage.
