RGC #8354 RIP SIO x A jury found Harrison and Dillin Pakai, 20, guilty of murdering Alonsio (Sio) Matalasi on August 22 last year. Pakai was sentenced to serve at least 12 years and three months of a life jail term. He had shot dead Matalasi, 25, outside a block of flats at Petone. Shane Pierre Harrison, 44, faced the the sentence of life without parole for a murder committed as a second strike offence - and the Crown said he should - but Justice Jill Mallon decided not to impose the sentence. Instead Harrison was sentenced to life imprisonment, but he has the chance of parole after serving 13 years.
