RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL. (OCTOBER__2013) THEME: NO OPTION TO THE GOSPEL SUNDAY/6TH/OCTOBER/2013 WITH---PASTOR ANITA OYAKHILOME For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Romans 1:16). Every child of God ought to bear the same testimony of the Gospel as Paul in the scripture above. You must be convinced that the Gospel is God’s only saving power, and be committed to its spread around the world. Let’s not act as though there’s an alternative for salvation, for there are no options: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the only way: “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him (Jesus) all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:38-39). Jesus Himself said in John 14:6 (WEB), “...I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me.” No wonder Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:16, “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel.” This is the attitude we must have towards the preaching of the Gospel. Only through the Gospel is the righteousness of God revealed. “For therein (the Gospel) is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17). No one can live a righteous life until he or she accepts the gospel of Christ. This is so because, only through Jesus Christ are men justified by faith, and thus have peace with God. So don’t be quiet. Preach the Word everywhere. The message of salvation has been entrusted to you (1 Timothy 1:11); you hold the key to the salvation of many around the world, so preach it with conviction, passion, and boldness. PRAYER: Dear Father, I thank you for your grace that’s manifested to save, heal, deliver, uplift and prosper all those who’ll embrace the glorious salvation that’s in Christ Jesus today, as the Gospel is ministered around the world. Thank you for the guidance and leading of the Spirit for us all, preaching the Word around the world today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. F U R T H E R S T U D Y: Romans 10:8-15(AMP) 8 But what does it say? The Word (God’s message in Christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach, 9 Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation. 11 The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed. 12 [No one] for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek. The same Lord is Lord over all [of us] and He generously bestows His riches upon all who call upon Him [in faith]. 13 For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved. 14 But how are people to call upon Him Whom they have not believed [in Whom they have no faith, on Whom they have no reliance]? And how are they to believe in Him [adhere to, trust in, and rely upon Him] of Whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? 15 And how can men [be expected to] preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings! [How welcome is the coming of those who preach the good news of His good things!] DAILY SCRIPTURE READING PLAN: 1 Year Bible Reading Plan: Philippians 4:4-23 John 4:10-18 2 Year Bible Reading Plan: John 4:10-18, 1 Kings 12
