WMYT 106.7 FM launched its on-air operations on July 22nd at 12:38 am, in the southeastern North Carolina market, after some five months of planning. The large Conservative Talk listening audience in Southeastern North Carolina, built over the last several years, had felt that it has “lost its voice”. WMYT 106.7 FM has returned America’s Top Syndicated Conservative Talk, Subject Talk and Spoken Word shows to FM and the region. Since the launch of WMYT 106.7 FM, five new locally produced shows have been added to its lineup, while expanding its audio streaming on the web. Curtis Wright, a fixture in Conservative Talk Radio and the ‘grassroots’ Conservative movement in North Carolina since 1995, had been broadcasting his show, On The Beat, on the internet from the current Talk Media TV studios since late 2012 after leaving Cumulus Broadcasting. George Bell, the former Brunswick County GOP Chair, and life-long business professional, came onboard to formalize the long-term business plan for the company, develop its sales staff, and work to launch WMYT. Talk Media TV’s business plan includes acquiring additional radio stations, expanding its internet broadcasting capabilities, and adding cable broadcasting over the next several months.
