RID YOURSELF OF UNFORGIVENESS BEFORE 2015 ARRIVES A young lady - TopicsExpress

RID YOURSELF OF UNFORGIVENESS BEFORE 2015 ARRIVES A young lady last week sent me an email seeking advice on why it is imperative that she learns to forgive. This what I shared with her. Im challenging many of you to pass along this pertinent information. Grow in grace. Thanks for reaching out. As for your question, understand that forgiveness has more to do with you and your progress and success as a believer than it does to those who perhaps wronged and/or betrayed you. In fact, forgiving is valid proof that you are savoring the abundant life Jesus came to give us. Because living the abundant life doesnt just consist in the things we possess, but rather its demonstrating the ability to see from where you are by being the bigger person, by learning the significance of humility, by steadfastly forgiving others if you will. Conversely, clinging to unforgiveness is like drinking someones poison and waiting for them to die. Simply put, no one wins in this situation. Also, one of Pauls letters to the Roman church spoke along the very lines of why we ought to forgive: If it be possible, as far as it depends on you, BE AT PEACE with ALL men (Romans 12:18). That means that even in wake of persecution, even in the wake of people unjustifiably criticizing you in the court of public opinion, even when those who love you suddenly hurt or betray you, Gods manual challenges us to be at peace with them or, in your case, to find the strength to forgive. How do you find such strength? You find that kind of strength by staying grounded and rooted in Gods word. Remember, whenever youre in doubt, read the instructions. Refer to the manual. Consult Gods law, which is His life-enhancing word. So forgive. Put it behind you (Philippians 3:13). Let go. Let God. Move forward with victory! --- A. Johnson
