RIGHTEOUSNESS!!! Concerning righteousness...every person, - TopicsExpress

RIGHTEOUSNESS!!! Concerning righteousness...every person, without exception pursues righteousness. Does this really sound incredible? It shouldnt. Once upon a time, there were two trees in the garden of Eden from which man could chose... Everyone knows this, right? Many know of the historical story but very few know of its true implications for, did you know, that these two trees still remain and it also remains that each and every person must also chose from these two trees? Did you not know this? Consider then... I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, Deuteronomy 30:19 What does this have to do with righteousness, you ask? The forbidden tree was a choice of righteousness but it was in stark contrast to the tree of life for it was one of independence and not dependence upon God. It was a self righteousness by which one would determine for himself what was good and evil...right and wrong. This is a subjective right and wrong and certainly NOT objective and based entirely upon Gods standards and within His good and perfect will. So then, it remains. This does not end however when one chooses the Lord Jesus for His tree of life, but this is really just the beginning for from now forward he must choose between the righteousness of God in Christ and subjugate his own independent will and life to God, the Father or whether he will choose his own. Eternal life is thus supplied to those who lose their independent soul life with that flowing supply of living water but for those who chose to seek their own... their own benefit, their own ambitions, their own pleasures, their own ambitions, their own comfort, their own desires and etc...these are supplied with the corruption that is in the world through the selfish desires of the natural man. This is what the bible refers to as death, which manifests in various forms and yet the conclusion is always the same, ending in not. What has this to do with RIGHTEOUSNESS? Everything because you must choose what is right and good either through yourself or by suffering the weight of the cross upon your soul, you instead turn to the Father through the lord Jesus Christ, what He so determines what is right and good and ALL for you. Christianity today is largely just talking the talk because of this fundamental flaw, not realizing that they are still choosing to remain in the self righteous tree of the knowledge of right and wrong based entirely upon their own self seeking desires. This is precisely why the Lord said that many will call Him Lord, Lord but not do as He says. Why? Because they never came to truly KNOW Him in spirit and in the reality of truth because by their deeds (self righteousness in self seeking) they denied Him and His cross. So then, all people seek for right and wrong so that the only difference is from which tree they chose to achieve that righteousness. Will it be out from self in choosing what is right and wrong governed largely, if not entirely upon subjective views and self benefit or will it be from the tree of life through the cross of Christ which cancels out all such subjectivity in favor of the absolute objectivity of God the Father. Just look and see the contrast in life: The man, Jesus Christ said, Not my will but Yours be done. Whereas all men in Adam, consider What is my benefit in the matter? before choosing what is right and wrong. The whole Adamic race of man can only consider anything as it relates to himself and thus all of his choices in life are based from this tree of seeking a very narrow and subjective view or righteousness or right and wrong as it relates to how it may affect him personally. It is impossible to do otherwise except in very brief and specific occasions wherein one might commit a selfless act from time to time. Individual acts of selflessness from time to time do not make the man, rather they prove instead that these are individual acts contrary to the very core of his nature for if selfless acts were really his nature, they would be without effort and all the time and not here and there. Thus we see that the two trees in the garden of Eden yet remain today for each and every person and yes, even after we have received the Lord for forgiveness of sins. The choice is one of life and death...for self or apart from self in the perfect man Jesus Christ and all for the good and perfect will of the Father which often times is in direct conflict with the self benefit of the individual. Hosanna, Lord Jesus! Save now to the uttermost.
