RIL Digest The other day, a dear friend asked me to pray for them to get a big sum of money to finish payment for land on which their church stood on. And guess what: I knew I wouldnt pray and surely dint. This was so, because earlier on, I had needed less money for my simple need yet I wasnt seeing anything so far though i had prayed. Yet, I had to tell Him I would pray. The question that lingered in my mind was if my own needs couldnt be met by my prayers, what difference would it make for me to pray for one who even desired more. Self confidence has always blinded many and pointed us towards our overwhelming needs against a mighty God. Can you imagine that!? Thats why when such thoughts where gaining ascendency and getting a rhythm , Paul said, Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.(2 Cor 3:5) Thats why Abraham even after looking like a liar in the eyes of Abimalech prayed for his whole house that was barren to start giving birth yet He himself had no child. Gen 20:17-18. He understood spiritual realities as pertaining to a sufficient God. We need to understand that we pass on the fullness of God not ourselves or our physical limitations. And all Gods promises have been amen-ratified and fulfilled to you who have believed on Christ Jesus. Therefore, you are His workmanship; and it is only by Gods sufficiency that we can do all things (Phil 4:13). We should always respond to all our liabilities with the asset of Gods sufficiency. Arent you glad about that?
