RIP Gustavo Adrián Cerati, one of the major figures in the rock en español movement that began making inroads in the U.S. in the early 1990s. He died today of respiratory failure. Cerati and his Argentine band Soda Stereo drew from English-speaking acts including the Police and Television, and inspired other Latin American musicians from Mexicos Cafe Tacvba to Colombias Shakira.
