RIP Jeremy R. Cousineau Resided in Commerce City, CO Died December 25, 2014 View Messages Jeremy Robert Cousineau, 38, went home to be with the Lord on Christmas Day, December 25, 2014. His last permanent address was 138 Saddlebag Ct., Rineyville, KY. Jeremy was born at Raymond W. Bliss Army Hospital at Ft. Huachuca, AZ on December 8, 1976 to Michael R. and Connie A. (Curran) Cousineau. Jeremy grew up largely in the Escanaba area and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1995. While in high school, he worked at Drifter’s Restaurant. Jeremy loved the outdoors and spent much time fishing, hunting, off roading, running and golfing. He also loved working on cars, fixing and repairing just about anything and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Following graduation, Jeremy entered the US Army and proudly served 18 years, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. Jeremys military career began with the Armor Division and he served at Ft Riley, KS, and Ft. Carson, CO, until he switched MOS to Recruiting. Jeremy loved recruiting and achieved Recruiter of the Year two times while serving at the West Bend, WI post. As he gained rank, he was given command of the Milwaukee Recruiting Station. There he brought that command from never achieving quota to reaching quota throughout his stay in Milwaukee. Jeremy did the same thing in Austin, TX, bringing that station to a new level of success, in the recruiting field. Jeremy was then transferred to Denver, CO, where he was in charge of seven recruiting stations and achieved the same results. Some awards received: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (7th award), Army Achievement Medal (5th award), Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (5th award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional, Continuous Honorable Active Service, Development Ribbon (3rd award), Army Service Ribbon, Gold Recruiter Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge, etc. Jeremy suffered from scoliosis for many years and was in a great deal of pain. While in Denver, approximately five years ago, life “rolled in” and affected a change that he would never quite get over. He was transferred to Ft. Knox, KY and it was there he was later discharged from the Army. Jeremy’s love for his family and friends was something every one of us admired. As his mother recently said, “Jeremy is irreplaceable. He was full of life and brought much laughter to our home. He was loved, by his brothers, sister-in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and of course daughters. Jeremy could come across tough but was really a teddy bear (we called him Jer-Bear!) and would do anything for anyone. We are proud of you, Jeremy, how you persevered in spite of heartache and pain. God saw it and believed you had enough, and brought you home. Please let your two siblings I lost during pregnancy, Uncle John, Grandma’s and Grandpa’s know they are all loved and missed!! I know you are all at peace and rejoicing in the presence of God. We will love and miss you forever, Jeremy.” Jeremy is survived by his parents, Mike and Connie Cousineau; wife, Jennifer Cousineau; daughter, Caitlin Cousineau; step-daughter, Savannah Morris; brothers, Michael (Angela) of Germantown, WI, Stephen (Sara) of Bel Aire, KS; nephews, Jacob Cousineau and Hobbs Hutchinson; niece, Adelyn Cousineau; aunts and uncles, Darlene (Ken) Kelloniemi, Patrick (Leta) Cousineau, George Kevin (Debbie) Curran, Mark (Lauri) Curran; and cousins, Don (Tina) Kelloniemi, Kris (Brent) Krutina, Brian (Gabriella) Cousineau, Jennifer (Brad) Houle, and Nicholas Curran. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5th from 2 t o 4:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Delta County Veterans Council will have military rites at 3:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 5 p.m. at St. Joseph and St. Patrick’s Church with Rev. Eric Olson officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall. The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Cousineau family.
