RIP Mayor for Life, Hon. Marion Barry. Ill never for get your Summer Youth Jobs Program where all the kids got summer jobs who wanted them. When they ran out of jobs, they paid the kids to go to school. My job for one summer in the mid-eighties was to go to school to learn geometry. Thats the kind of mayor he was. He touched thousands in my generation. Dont let the media denigrate or dismiss the body of work and human capital he developed throughout Barrys career.
