RIP Mr. Herbert Morris Mr. Morris, age 85, a 45 year resident of #Petaluma, died of cancer at his home on October 30th. Herbert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy (Dottie); his son Samual Morris (Rashida), of London, England; and his daughters Karen Morris-Cole, of Sacramento, CA and Brenda Penney (Charlie) of Las Vegas, NV. Herbert was born on November 26th, 1928 in Kingsville, TX and was raised in Houson, TX where he graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School. In 1949 he joined the United States Air Force as a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), serving 24 1/2 years, retiring in 1973 at the rank of MSgt. from Hamilton Air Force Base. During his time in the military he served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars where he received numerous awards and commendations, including the Bronze Star. Herbert was an active man and was deeply involved in the community, St. Johns Episcopal Church and St. Johns Anglican Church. Herbert served as chalice bearer, head usher, head of the building and maintenance committee and sang in the choir. He was an umpire for the City of Petaluma softball and little leagues. He belonged to many organizations including, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Veterans of Foreign Wars( VFW), Sons in Retirement (SIRS), and Promise Keepers.
