RIP, dear Molly (1994 - 2014), the most magical of cats. Lets hear it for a great, GREAT cat! Sweet Molly died in my arms this past Sunday, July 6, at midnight. 11:58pm. MIDNIGHT, that magic cat. She was magical even in the particular hour she departed mortal life. She died naturally, but had tried all weekend to hold onto life. She wanted to stay! Incomparable, bewitching cat! Ive been blessed and inspired by her companionship for so many years, its very strange now to be without her. She is the only cat Ive ever had, and shes irreplaceable. Her sense of humor made me snort often, especially when we played Hide and Seek or when shed say something funny to me with a quirky expression. Intelligent, perceptive, silly cat! Her beautiful, black fur was the silkiest Ive ever stroked on a cat. Her stature and movements were naturally refined. Ill miss her rubbing up against my legs and purring in my ear (or, rather, purring while I smashed my face into her belly). Elegant, sophisticated cat! Mollys inspiration and influence on my music will never die, for she is my ghost cat now. And, when the day comes, Ill see her resurrected back into her silky fur as an immortal feline. My little friend. I love her. Eternal muse, eternal mews! *** Im asking all my local friends who loved Molly to add a rock or stone to her grave, a piled monument of dear, dear kitteness.
