Congressman Amodei Tours RIX Industries in Sparks (August 7, 2013) Sparks, NV—Congressman Mark Amodei (R-NV-2) will tour RIX Industries at 960 Deming Way on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 9 a.m. to see firsthand the jobs and business that the production of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers brings to his district. RIX Industries manufactures oil-free compressors for the U.S. Navy and is currently supplying the Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), the first ship in the newest class of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, set to be christened on November 9, 2013. During his visit to the facility, Congressman Amodei will meet with the employees and managers at RIX Industries to discuss the importance of continued aircraft carrier funding. We greatly appreciate Congressman Amodei meeting with our employees in an effort to understand the economic impact the funding of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers has on RIX Industries and its workers. Congress must continue to fully fund aircraft carriers, so we can continue to provide jobs to our local community and ensure that our U.S. Navy has the fleet strength it needs to protect our nation and deter our adversaries. ####
