ROAD KILL DEER DUMPED Pennsylvania Game Commission Erie County Wildlife Conservation Officers are investigating an incident of deer dumped into Four Mile Creek, Wintergreen Gorge, Harborcreek Township, Erie County. Wildlife Conservation Officer Larry Smith reported that five deer believed to be road kills were located just upstream of Cooper Road. WCO Smith said, “These deer had multiple broken bones, consistent with deer hit on the roadway.” Smith believes the deer were dumped upstream of Cooper Road and that high water carried them downstream. The deer have been removed from the stream to a dry area to allow scavengers to assist in the decomposition process. The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking information on how these deer were dumped into the creek. Individuals can remain anonymous if they wish. Information can be reported to the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Northwest Region Office at (814) 432-3187.
