ROBBERY – BANK OF SCOTLAND, CLARKSTON, GLASGOW Police are appealing for information following a robbery at a bank in Clarkston on Friday 29 August 2014. Around 1245 hours this afternoon, a man threatened staff within the Bank of Scotland, Clarkston Road, Clarkston, Glasgow, before making off with cash – estimated at this time to be worth a four figure sum. He was last seen running in to Cairndow Ave, just off Clarkston Road. Detective Inspector Alistair Barlow, Community Investigation Unit, said today: “Thankfully no one was injured during the robbery; however, it was a very frightening experience for the staff in the bank. “Our enquiries are still at quite an early stage, however, I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of the bank at the time of the robbery to contact police. “The suspect is described as a white male, of medium build and was wearing dark coloured overalls and a black skip hat. He ran off into Cairndow Ave which leads to a residential area. “We are also checking CCTV at the moment and are considering the possibility that the suspect may have been hanging around nearby just prior to the robbery. I would ask that anyone who has information about the man responsible or can help with our enquiries, contact police via the non emergency number 101 or in confidence to Crimestoppers on 0800 55 111.”
