ROLE OF GANDHIJI IN CREATION OF PAKISTAN. Did Gandhiji support creation of Pakistan ??? Let me apprise you that the seed of partition had been sowed by the Britishers in Indian Council Act, 1909 (known in History book as Morle-Minto reform), which remained always as a bone of contention between Congress and opposition Muslim league. Please read about About the above Act in detail together with Simon Commission at URLs (2) and (3) below respectively. Click on the. The very above Act actually gave independent voting right to Muslims for running day to day local administration. Practice of this Act since 1909 only opened to take easy but not-so-surprised step by the British for conducting plebiscite among Muslims to decide for separate countries. Please check the nitty-gritty of Gandhis continuous struggle against Britishers. Gandhijis and Congresss major and continuous battle (nation wide strikes in 1919, 1922, 1929, 1930) with Britishers were nothing but for largely focussing to press Britishers for equal non-discriminatory voting rights. More they fought for nondiscriminatory voting rights, more the Muslims leagues convinced themselves for a separate Muslim nation. Please read 1st URL link below to know that it was not Gandhi but it was his killer Godses Hindu Mahasabha and his Leader Savarkar who first affirmed their demand for two nations from the side of Hindus long before independence. Rather, they seemed to have bowed down to the pressure of Britishers for creating Pakistan, not Gandhi. What were then Gandhi and his Congress (crores of non-violent freedom fighters) doing then from 1931 to 1942 ?? By knowing the impending division of the country, the entire Congress party got engaged in convincing the Muslims for a United India during 1930-40, since British stand of conducting separate election for Muslims was in no way going to be abolished because of diehard support by Jinnahs Muslim league. Hence, such a power of separate voting right with reserved seats for Muslims was empowering Muslim community day by day for demanding a separate nation. Congress and Gandhis continuous effort to keep Muslims in the side of Congress stopped first attempt of Jinnah to demand for separate nation in 1937, where the Muslim Majority undivided Punjab, UP and undivided Bengal voted for Congresss stand of United India. But the first such defeat by Jinnahs Muslim league fueled with more tricks to play in next election that was conducted again by the Britishers after 2nd World War before taking final call for Independent India. Please note that then post-war newly elected British PM Mr Atli was very aware about Muslims strong potentiality for demanding a separate nation, as he had earlier served as a member of the very Simon Commission that had reaffirmed the British decision of separate voting right for Muslims, in spite of Gandhijis nation wide noncooperation movement against such policy of British. Hence, it was Mr Atli who again used Britishs stand for conducting fresh election among Muslims for choosing a separate nation, before considering for transfer of power. By this time, Mr Jinnah had learnt his past mistakes in 1937 plebiscite and hence had taken entire UP into his grief. As like modern day election, UPs instigated and re-convinced Muslim vote-banks turned the show in favour of a separate nation. The second election/ plebiscite among Muslims not only defeated Gandhis congress for a united India but also affirmed for a separate nation in the name style of Pakistan. Please verify the above story with factual records, and tell me, where was really Gandhi standing for creation Pakistan ?? Rather, after defeat in plebiscite 1945, Gandhi went on prolonged fasting by protesting against creation of a separate nation. It was Indian Council Act 1909 that always convinced Congress leaders that such a discriminatory Act will divide the nation. But this is the main Act which fueled Gandhiji to fight continuously against Britishers that convinced Gandhi in 1923 that rather than demanding reform in 1909 Indian Council Act, demanding independence (Purna swaraj) will be the only way for establishing non-discriminatory peoples regime in the country. Let you note that Indian Council Act1909 is the main Act against which Gandhi fought through out his life and this is the Act that helped Jinah to mobilize Muslims for a separate country. We see Gandhiji for creation of Pakistan out of our quick effort to see History through one or two single events. Todays youth never verifies recorded chained events to reach to a conclusion. Read below for more understanding. Please show me any piece of reference in support of the above claim. Many often without having anything substantial, his critics (the fanatics for whom he remained as a thorn) instigate us to misconstrue Gandhis strong insistence for payment of Rs 55 crores compensation to Pakistan as an evidence for supporting creation of Pakistan, which was nothing but part of mutual agreement between two nations that had to be honoured.
