ROLE: based in Aberdeen – for an Oil & Gas company Salary up to 31K with overtime Workshop Fitter Reporting: Workshop Team Leader Business Need / Purpose of role: To dismantle, inspect, repair and rebuild rotating equipment in the workshop, working closely with the Workshop supervisor, Contract Support Engineers and fitting shop leading hand to deliver the highest quality of repair, on time and to budget. Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities: (results this role is expected to accomplish) • A proactive approach to Health, Safety and Environmental practices in the workshop and assist in driving the required cultural change by adopting our key safety values:- My colleagues and my own safety is paramount No task is so important or urgent that it cannot be undertaken safely I will only undertake tasks that I am trained, competent and properly prepared for I will never cut corners nor take shortcuts at the expense of safety I will stop the job if I believe it is unsafe to continue • Ensure a high level of housekeeping and that your area of responsibility is visitor ready at all times, using 5 S techniques, actively participate where required to support the business continuous change improvement projects. • Work with Supervisor/Manager to ensure accurate and on time completion of equipment repairs and completing strip down reports, assembly rebuild records, and test requirements to meet departmental daily / weekly work schedule. • Encourage team members to focus on achievement of all daily / weekly objectives. Build team spirit and adopt a positive attitude with a professional respect for fellow work colleagues. • Ensure all equipment in the fitting area is maintained to a high standard where appropriate liaising with supervisor / leading hand. Objectives & Measurement : Health & Safety record and attitude Quality of workmanship Timekeeping & Attendance Utilisation (hours chargeable to work orders) General Information The Workshop fitter role is an operational one and is key to the service centre maintaining and achieving the required health and safety performance as well as it’s on time delivery commitments to the customer. Person Specification – Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications / Personal Attributes • Confident communicator, ability to read and understand engineering drawings • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently or in teams • Able to work on own initiative and take appropriate decisions when required • Excellent problem solving capabilities • Time served craftsman in appropriate discipline • Flexibility to carry out the necessary duties to complete the task to tight deadlines • Customer focused attitude
