ROSELAND UPDATE: Gov. Quinn has authorized $350K in emergency funding to keep Roseland Hospital open until June 17th. In the interim, an independent review of hospital operations will be conducted and a turnaround expert will be appointed to determine the long-term viability of Roseland. The Governor and I are in agreement that Roseland is a vital community resource but that substantial structural changes are necessary to allow it to operate in a fiscally responsible manner. I look forward to continuing to work with the Governor to help Roseland develop a more sustainable business model that will allow it to serve the community more effectively.
