ROWING Hello all, just wanting to inform you of another success story by our pupils on the last day of the Winter Norfolk School Games. 8 of our pupils were involved in the County Partnership Indoor Rowing Finals. Medal Winners: Yr 10’s Tommy Hoven, and Emma Jones both came 2nd in their individual races, in which they had to row as far as they could in 5 minutes. Yr 8 Abi Foster came 3rd in her 3 min race. As with all Partnership events we were up against 8 teams in total so, again, these are fantastic achievements. Yr 9 Richard Joisce came 5th and so did Yr 7 Ellie Foster. Yr 8 Charlie Smith came 6th and Yr 7 Dario Stott came 7th. Again, these are really closely contested races, which made for a brilliant atmosphere!! Relays: Yr 7 and 8’s made up a team and had to row 2000m, Yr 9 and 10’s had to row 4000m, both teams came 5th. The Yr 9 and 10’s missed out on 4th place by cms, it was bonkers!!Not only did our pupils try their very best in their events, it was lovely to see their enthusiasm and the encouragement they gave each other. All pupils beat their qualifying times, ‘really upping their game’. It was loud, I had a headache, but it was fab!!! Bring on the Summer Games (JULY) where we will be competing in events such as the Aquathlon and Athletics and Angling (qualifiers for these are in May). Thanks, COACH TOPPING
