RPD CRIME REPORT DECEMBER 22, 2014 Officers responded to the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street where staff members had captured a 16 year old male stealing store items. The suspect was ultimately found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and an open container of liquor as well as being listed as a runaway by the Jasper County Sheriffs Office. He was turned over to Deputies for transport to the Juvenile Detention Facility in Columbia. The same juvenile was arrested under similar charges during an August 21, 2014 shoplifting incident at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. A suspicious person was reported at the EZ Stop II convenience store at 80 Blue Heron Drive. A welfare check was conducted on a male dialysis patient at a residence on North Green Street after he failed to answer the front door for an extended period of time. Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street. A white Jeep Liberty was involved in a single vehicle collision on Old House Road when it struck a section of fencing surrounding the Honey Hill Plantation property. No injuries were reported.
