RTO employee, agent caught accepting bribe In a trap arranged by the anti-corruption bureau (ACB), Regional Transport Office (RTO) clerk Sagar Shinge, 35, and agent Sachin Patil, 30, were caught red-handed on Thursday while accepting a bribe of Rs.800 to allot a special vehicle number. According to ACB sources, Shoyab Mujawar had purchased a new vehicle, for which he wanted a specific number. The RTO employee and agent demanded bribe for the request, upon which Mujawar approached the ACB. Goan liquor seized A squad of the state excise department halted a car travelling from Goa to Kolhapur and seized illegal stock of liquor worth Rs. 1.5 lakh on Thursday. Girish Mohite, 34, and Pravin Pawar, 36, are arrested on the charge of dealing in illegal liquor. Sugarcane worker dies in mill Ashok Kamble, 54, who is employed at a co-operative sugar mill managed by Renuka Sugar Works Ltd. at Ichalkaranji in Kolhapur district, slipped down from a 35-feet high crane while pouring oil in the crane’s gear box and died on the spot on Thursday.
