RUET adjudged best varsity of South Asia Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has been adjudged by an Oxford-based organisation as best university in South Asia, sources in the varsity said. Also, Vice-chancellor of RUET Prof Dr Mourtoza Ali has been nominated as `Manager of the Year`. The university and its VC earned the laurels in a survey conducted by an Oxford-based international research organisation in the UK, Euro Business Assembly, according to a RUET press release. In the survey, RUET has been nominated for the award on the basis of some parameters, like educational curriculum, standard of education and research and infrastructures. VC Prof Mourtoza Ali has been elected Manager of the year for conducting the academic and administrative activities “successfully and competently”, the press release said. The VC has been invited to receive the award at a conference titled “Oxford Summit of Leaders” scheduled to be held at Oxford Town Hall on December 17. In an instant reaction in this regard, Prof Ali told BSS that he would continue his best efforts for building RUET as “the best institution of the world”. DS100913
