RUN AGAINST DENGUE listup on TOBYS Trinoma and Tobys Mall of Asia are the registration partners of the 2013 Tempra Run Against Dengue, which is set on Nov. 17 (Sunday), 4 a.m., around the Quezon City Memorial Circle. Part of net proceeds from the advocacy run, which is also backed by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Philippine Sports Commission, Green Cross, Medicard, Gemilang4U International, Business Mirror, Health and Fitness Magazine and the National Capital Region Athletic Association, will be used for the purchase of various anti-dengue modalities, including garbage bins, to be distributed in selected day-care centers and barangays in the city. Four categories comprise the fun run, namely 10k (P450), 4k (P400), 2k (P300) and Family Run (P250 each runner)--the events newest division featuring a parent (or parents) running for a distance of 1k with his or her kid/s. Another registration center is at the Liwasang Aurora of the QC Memorial Circle (near the blue stage) every weekends until Nov. 16 and an hour prior to the gun start of the 10k run on race day. Runners must bring one empty box of Tempra syrup or drops or 10 empty blister packs of Tempra tablets to join. Only runners with Tempra entries will be entitled to the raffle for a chance to win any of these prizes – tablets (Samsung, Acer etc.), cellphones, Sennheiser headphones, hotel accommodations, Star City GCs, Food GCs and movie passes. Bring/submit more empty Tempra boxes/blister packs for more chances in the raffle of prizes. Last years advocacy run was held in Manila, drawing some 3,000 dengue busters. Organized by Subterranean Ideas and sponsored by Tempra, the advocacy run aims to demonstrate the power of collaborative efforts, using sports as one of the main tools, to provide information campaign about the danger of dengue and conduct activities to fight this epidemic.
