Her laptop sits on an angle atop the spine of a book. “You devil, we’ll not have any of that you crafty hooligan. Oh my… (more giggles) Have that!”, she says as she types.. “We need to get down to business, you naughty boy.. Have you reviewed the file that was sent us overnight”. Frank, somewhat disappointed that the fun has been set aside, answers, “Yes I have.. It appears we have a real problem in Chi Town, he’s just a beginner, but he looks like a true Boy Scout, earning his patches, he’s getting better. I haven’t spoken to the locals yet. It’s in my back yard.” Gertrude, studies the message before answering, then begins typing, “Yes I have, and I just got a reply from Roberto, saying pretty much the same thing. Ken speaks, “Who in the Hell do these yahoo’s think they are telling us we should or shouldn’t do about anything?” He studies the faces of the others and continues, “Why are we even wasting our time, if they were legit, they’d identify themselves at the very least, wouldn’t they?”, shaking his head then says, “Eastern Europe deployment? Really? WTF is that all about? Wherever they pulled that out of, personally, speaking for myself mind you, I wouldn’t touch it.” Sandra, shaking her head slowly, and responds, “This came down from Heaven. They think this is important, so as a matter of fact, so do we, or have you got another plan?” The lone holdout, Fred, from Homicide, speaks softly, “I’m not trying to start a fight, but I and a dedicated staff, on the ground, in the community, have spent 7 months in the field and have come to an entirely different conclusion, a black male, early twenties, a conclusion that has been aided by your team, Sandy, RIGHT?” He checks the response, and adds, “What does this mean? Are we supposed to ditch our investigation and start over? What do we know about this report, and what is the weight we should place on any anonymous source, totally atypical of my past instructions” Sandra stands and straightens out her skirt, brushing off the crumbs on her desk into her hand and deposes them in the wastebasket. Then looks at the team and declares, “I haven’t any more info than you do, so all that I could suggest is that we proceed as if this is an epiphany, and get out there and pick up Sargent Bilko, before he kills again.”
