RUTH, CHAPTER 2 In this chapter, Ruth, a woman from another town went out looking for someone to find favor in her so that she could pick up extra grain for Naomi and her to live on. While she was at one particular field picking up grain, a man by the name of Boaz took notice of her, showed her favor, and given her the same treatment as one of his servant girls. Boaz, called Ruth to him, told her that her knew all about her and the many things she was doing for Naomi. Ruth was shocked that he knew so much about her and was so kind to her(not even knowing her); so much so Ruth felt undeserving, but Boaz told her he would bless her in the name of the Lord. Ruth, still not understanding why responds humbly... At this, she bowed down with her face to the ground. She asked him, Why have I found such favor in your eyes that you notice me--a foreigner? -Ruth 2:10 A foreigner...the word that stuck out to me the most in this chapter (and take notice in me)...a foreigner can be defined as: 1. One who is from a foreign country or place. 2. One who is from outside a particular group or community; an outsider. Have you ever felt Gods favor even though you know you where not in the realm of His protection? Have you ever been protected, given grace, shown mercy even when you know you didnt deserve it; thats exactly the point God is trying to get across to you in this particular scripture. God loves you so much that he blesses you even when He knows youve been a foreigner to Him. No time, no reading, no praying, no worship, no praise; not a single acknowledgement, but He still goes out His way to make sure that you have the best. God loves this way; unconditional; Just as Boaz did for Ruth! God will have someone waiting, already in place, watchng you, looking at all the things you have done (taking notice of you)....waiting to bless you! The question now is when will you take notice of God. Take heed to who He is and what He does for you in your life. God doesnt need you; you need Him. #thinkaboutit #sayyourprayers -Shenique
