RUTH MBANDU - SUSPECTS IN PRESIDENTIAL RACE The battle to replace late President Michael Chilufya Sata is becoming both deadly and dangerous, with murder suspects having a field day wanting to become President. If Zambians are not careful, we may end up with a Presidential candidate who is a criminal. Do you recall the 19year old Ruth Mbandu gruesome murder? That gruesome murder of a NIPA student. The Zambian Watchdog even ran the story, hinting that Ruth Mbandu was pregnant when she was murdered and that the pregnancy could have been by a politician. That statement brought some people out. Deputy Inspector General of Zambia Police, who was then Lusaka Province Commissioner of police, Dr. Solomon Jere, even announced that the police had come closer to apprehending the murderers and indicated that there were some high profiled people involved, and that was the end of the episode on the politician involved. Ruth Mbandu was murdered in Matero stadium, the home ground of Lusaka Tigers Football club. A mobile phone for one of the alleged murderers, Collins Soma, was found at the scene of crime.
