Rabbits and Children - Do They Mix? People who dont have rabbits often consider rabbits the perfect starter pets for kids. The truth is that rabbits scare easily and most dont like to be picked up. Whats more their delicate bone structure means that when they are handled they must be handled gently. However that doesnt mean it cant work as the photo here of HRN alum Bandit being loved up (and obviously enjoying it) by his little humans. But notice how these kids are down at his level and are being so sweet and gentle. If you do have kids and want to add a rabbit to your household be sure you do the research and educate your kids about how to handle the bun.
