Race wrap up : 2:06 No where near the time I have been training for, but carried injuries and stupid gopro rig had massive failure, but no excuses, Im happy tho. I knew going into this race I was always going to struggle as the arches in both feet have been giving me grief all week due to Disneyland queues, but, what ya gunna do. The race its self was just so special, and something Ill cherish for the rest of my life. 16,000 runners for the 21km and it was like running thru a sheep corral for the first 6 Kms, but what a sight! I was announced as I crossed the start line and wished a happy birthday infront of the 16000 ppl, so that was friggin spectacular, I got to run up Main Street of Disneyland and was given high fives from the best princesses... Isabelle and Lucy then ran on under Snow Whites castle before leaving the park and hitting the streets on Anaheim. One of the street was lined with over 200 super cool old school HOTRODS and talk about cheer leaders... No kidding, several dozen cheer teams lined most of the suburban streets. The track lead into the main LA Angles baseball mega stadium and I got to run down 1st and over the home plate in front of a packed audience and wave the Australian flag I had as high as I could and the crowd went totally nuts with cheers and a few boos but what a trip!! The finish was just great with 1000s of ppl cheering and shouting and once again I was called out by the announcers and they welcomed home the Aussie as once again I was waving out flag with pride and was once again greeted by Sandra and the little ladies right on the finish line and a high five to Mickey Mouse as well. What a way to start my birthday !!! This really is the happiest place on earth.
