Races, Challenges and Competitions (even after years in the game) - TopicsExpress

Races, Challenges and Competitions (even after years in the game) not only continue to tell you about yourself your current training and fitness but in addition are extremely fun and challenging. They can provide a clear way of uncovering if all those hours spent training spinning your wheels in the gym have purpose. Races, Challenges and Competitions will point out the quitters, the excuse makers, the procrastinators---- they can and will expose you to yourself. Whether you come in first or last it will show the ones who fight: the ones who not only fight hard but never give up. And these traits translate into everyday life whether personal or professional -------as the ol saying goes “Winners never quit, quitters never win”…. I’m always challenging myself looking for ways to stay mentally and physical strong. Races, Challenges and Competitions I use as sort of a yard stick bench mark so that I don’t get caught up just posing in the mirror drinking my own Kool Aid… Known by most (if not all) as a long time gym rat; training hours in the gym are great - known for the physical adaptations (changes) but also maybe to a lesser extent its therapeutic effect. But the sixty nine thousand dollar question in my book is….. (Drum roll) ----does it test your fitness? Assuming fitness is the goal -- to be more fit /healthier. Body Building to use an example is about “Building the Body” not necessarily becoming more fit.. So, understanding the difference in goals, training types may vary… However, the ultimate (again in my book) is doing that which brings the best out of YOU. That which pushes you beyond the same ol hum drum…. to improve, become more fit and mentality disciplined. You can accomplish the amazing when you challenge yourself…… I am putting together with some friends a hike up Bear Mountain on July 20th --- (easy- peasyyy--- hike up to the iconic TOWER). I May bring some equipment out for some strength, agility & quickness drills for those who want a little more… depending on the weather and turn out ------ EVENT is FREE…. Bring your families ---- additional activities include: Boat rentals-$ 5 per hour, Ice Rink -$4, Pool $2, Merry – Go - Round $1 per ride, Trailside Museum and Zoo Donation accepted All are invited and encouraged join us for some summer fun ---this includes YOU!!!!!!… Inbox me for details question etc… …Health is Wealth... Hope to see you there!!!!!
