Rachel "Rusty" Granberg (1924-2013) Rachel "Rusty" Granberg, 89, of Wilton passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. She was born in July 1924 in Hallowell the daughter of Homer W. and Mildred S. Lothrop. Rusty attended school in Oakland, Maine and graduated from the University of Maine Farmington. She went to work as a teacher in Wilton and Rangeley. In retirement she lived in Florida for many years, recently moving back to Maine to reside in Wilton. Rusty was a 70 year member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Even in retirement she was very active in her community in Florida being secretary of the Park and Social Club. She also enjoyed many crafts and her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Rusty is survived by her daughter Brenda Webber and her husband Bruce of Sandy River Plantation; two sons Brent Granberg of New Sharon and Jay Granberg and wife Vicky of South Carolina; seven grandchildren Michael, Eric, Angela, Carolyn, Hilary, Heather, and Joshua; five great grandchildren Nicole, Alexander, Megan, Kasey, and Sebastian; three sisters Virginia Charles of Alabama, Roberta Emmons of Deleware, and Priscilla Smith and husband Terry of Jay; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband George, a brother Harold Lothrop, daughter-in-law Nancy Granberg, brother-in-laws Keith Emmons and Vernal Charles. NOTICE: Granberg, Rachel "Rusty" 7/27/2013 A private interment will take place at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements under the care of Adams-McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington.
